i4designer Application mappings management

Abstract

Check out this article and learn how to apply application mappings and which hierarchical entities allow such associations.

Applications defined in i4connected can be linked to one or more entities, as well as used as standalone elements, using a dedicated tile. The supported entities are:

  • Sites

  • Areas

  • Organizational Units

  • Devices

The Application mapping assignment can be processed from the detailed view panel of the entity, by clicking the Manage application toolbar button. The button opens the Manage Application Mappings panel where the user can select an application to connect it to that specific entity.

Sites Application Mappings

Users having the Manage Sites and Areas permission enabled can link Application mappings to Sites. Unlike the other entities, Sites can have a Site selector and a Default Application mapping.

Once a Default Application mapping is linked to a Site, the application visualization will be pinned to the Site's details panel. On the other hand, Site selector Application mappings will be displayed in the Site Selector panel and in the Site map panel.
